, the international asset management house, has appointed Alison Wallis as director for institutional.

Wallis Alison is based in Sydney and will report to Alex Zaika, managing director for Australia. She is responsible for business development and servicing the institutional market in Australia. 

The firm said her hire follows “growing interest from Australian superannuation funds in GAM’s differentiated product offering, including its GAM Systematic alternative risk premia and insurance-linked securities offerings, which continue to see positive net flows”.

Wallis joins GAM from Brookvine, where she spent six years as director, serving institutional investors. She was also a client manager at Deutsche Bank, where she managed strategic relationships with clients and prospects for the firm’s fixed income and equity products. 

GAM Investments, which is listed in Zurich, is battling to recover its fortunes after its share price tumbled last year, and investors withdrew money, following the suspension – and later dismissal – of a senior employee.
